I am Megan Gruner, owner and operator of The Natural Path Gardens, parallel company of The Natural Path Stone. This marks our 9th season of natural, chemical free gardening in Guelph and we’re now moving into the Southern Georgian Bay area around Owen Sound. The Natural Path Gardens started from a keen interest in native and naturalized plants and a natural approach to garden design. Native and naturalized plants are better suited to our climate, require less water, have fewer pest infestations and have the added bonus of providing habitat and food sources for our local birds and butterflies. Imagine your backyard oasis with full trees, shrubs and perennials that not only have beautiful berries, flowers and foliage but also attract songbirds and butterflies!
GARDENING TO SUIT YOUR SITE
Your garden layout and plants will be chosen to suit your site and soil. This ensures plants will thrive and the design will fit naturally into your landscape. Dark shady areas become lush, cool, woodland retreats full of ferns, trilliums, and dogwoods. Hot, dry, sandy areas become beautiful meadow gardens full of bright coneflowers and drought tolerant ornamental grasses.
THE DIRT ON GARDENING
Healthy gardens start with healthy soil. We always examine your soil before doing anything. Knowing the type of soil you have (clay, loamy, sandy) as well as the condition of your soil is vital to choosing the right plants as well as showing us what needs to be done to improve your soil. Before doing anything we often add compost or well-rotted manure to ensure a garden with strong healthy plants that are most able to withstand drought and pests.
CUSTOMER SATISFACTION
The Natural Path Gardens has been operating successfully since 1997. Our customers love us and the work we have done for them. Among the many factors that have contributed to this success are: a love of gardening and extensive knowledge of plants, a strong work ethic, attention to detail and, of course, the beautiful gardens we create. We are particularly proud of the relationships we form with our customers. We believe it is vital to listen to our customers from the very beginning. Your ideas, budget and vision are essential in the planning and design of the project. Our customers stay with us for years; confident that we make their dream of a beautiful garden — within a realistic budget — a reality.
