The Thornbury Summer Antique Show
The Thornbury Summer Antique Show, now in its 19th year, has for many good reasons become known as Southern Georgian Bay‘s Premier Summer Antiques Event.
In fact, you may be quite surprised by the wide ranging knowledge base covered by the twenty-six experienced antiques dealers participating in this show. The antique merchandise offered for sale represents a fine selection of desirable and affordable quality, together with the secure knowledge that you are buying from reputable dealers who “know their stuff” . . . and stand behind what they sell!
This show features an affable blend of professional antiques dealers from around Southern Ontario and who are proud to share with you their knowledge of antiques and collectibles.
Come and discover the wide range of authentic antiques that will be offered for sale at this event. Some of the categories include exquisite antique and Victorian jewellery, pressed glass and goblets, pottery and porcelain items, graniteware, depression glass, silver and silverplate, country pine and oak furniture together with more sophisticated styles of furnishings including European antiques and antique Persian rugs. You will also find art glass, vintage hooked rugs and quilts, linens, advertising items, antiquarian and collectible books, early lamps and lighting, lots of country décor and primitives plus a wonderful selection of 20th century Canadian fine art by well listed artists, historical maps and botanical prints, lithos, etchings . . . and so much more.
The Beaver Valley Community Centre, 81 Victoria Street in Thornbury is the site of this summer’s antiques event with its air-conditioned, well-lit interior, inviting atmosphere, ample free parking and a great luncheon menu by our talented caterer, Jennifer White, proprietor of The OrchidRestaurant in Thornbury.
The Thornbury Summer Antiques Show starts Friday, August 14 running from 10am to 5pm and continues Saturday, August 15 from 10am to 5pm and Sunday, August 16 from 10am to 4pm. Show admission is $5.00 which includes re-entry, children, twelve years and younger, are free. The charming Village of Thornbury is located on Hwy. #26 on the southern shores of Georgian Bay – just 100 km north of Toronto and 15 km west of Collingwood.
Come experience the interesting, unique and wonderful selection of antiques and vintage collectibles that will be found at this summer’s show, plus you will enjoy talking antiques with our very knowledgeable antiques dealers.
