Born in Glasgow, Scotland but raised in and around the suburbs of Toronto, James became a professional musician at 20.  He is a modern-day storyteller, songwriter, singer, guitar player and performer.
James has three albums of original songs, the latest…”the vibewrangler sessions”; as well “the chianti bros.” (1994) and “boomer” (1999).

James’ song Big Muskoka Moon has received an honourable mention at this year’s Nashville Demo Studio Annual Songwriters Competition (2008)

“Big Muskoka Moon” was a Semi-Finalist in the Folk and Country category in the UK Songwriting Contest 2008.

He organises and hosts a yearly fundraiser for Erinoak Kids–a charity that helps over 9000 kids with special needs “be all they can be”.
