Call-To-Artists … ARTFEST
A small group of Meaford artists have been getting together to work and sell their art for many years, but it wasn’t until 2002 some of these same people met to for the organization now known as the “Meaford Creative Arts Association” (MCAA). The intent of this group was to represent the visual arts in Meaford and be a liaison with other such groups within the Georgian Bay area, Ontario, Canada. From these humble beginnings, what first started out as a small group of loosely knit, but like-minded individuals, it has since grown into an organization of approximately 80 plus artists and artisans. Regular meetings are held on the first Monday of each month at Meaford Hall. Here mutual concerns are addressed as well as special projects designed to enhance, beautify and promote the arts within the community and surrounding area. Most weekly paint-ins are scheduled to take place in a specially designated area within the Meaford hall, however outdoor paint-outs also take place from time-to-time when weather permits. Once a month a special guest artist is invited to demonstrate his/her particular expertise.
