Cold Revenge, Chapter 1

By David Takman

In the deepness of space, far in the darkest corner of the universe, there were 5 bright glowing spheres. They glowed brightly, bright as any star anyone could ever see. The first, and largest one was red, glowing so bright it could blind any who saw it. The second was a bright blue, shining bright and strong. There was a black light, but it was just as easily seen as the others, despite its color. The second largest was a bright pink light. The brightest one of them all however was a bright yellow, bright as the sun. The 5 lights weren’t motionless, they shot through the deepness of space as if they had a purpose. They didn’t move for very long when a stray asteroid shot towards them, slamming into them all. The 5 shot apart from one another moving in different directions. The yellow sphere shot furthest from the others. It shot on through endless space until it came to a planet larger than any in the known universe.  This planet was called Recedes, and was not only the largest planet, but in the middle of a great war that had been raging for three hundred years. The planet was a brown planet seen from space. No clouds, so the ground could be seen almost clearly. The yellow sphere shot down towards the ground until it slammed into the ground amidst a battle raging.

The room was rather ordinary, a room you could find absolutely anywhere. A chair was in one corner with a small work table in front of it. There was a window above the table by three feet. On one wall there was a bookshelf filled with assorted books. The walls were yellow, Joe’s favorite color. On the other wall opposite the bookshelf wall, there were posters of various ninja warriors. The very top and largest poster was of the Black Ninja. A hero from the past. A man who had fought against untold evils for longer than anyone knew. All anyone did know was that he fought evil, and then one day disappeared and was never heard of again. The poster beside that one, was a drawn picture of a man with bulging muscles. Short black hair on his head, fierce black eyes. This one was aptly named, muscle man. A man who before the Black ninja had also defended the planet against the threats of evil. The thing that marked this room as very strange was that there was a capsule in the very middle of the room, silver colored, made of metal.
The sliding door opened slowly, and stopped with a small thudding noise. Joe sat up and stared at the wall with the posters. He gazed at them for a few seconds then yawning he slowly stood up. He wore a simple pair of black shorts, his skin was extremely pale. His eyes were a very light blue. Joe moved slowly towards the dresser then stopped as he looked out the window. He stared out the window looking towards the star far up in the sky. Blinking and yawning again he moved to the dresser. He pulled out the outfit he was going to wear for the day. Stripping off his boxers he stepped into the outfit. The one thing he loved about the clothes on this planet was all you had to do to put them on was push a small button on the waistline of the outfit. Doing so he grinned as a yellow bodysuit literally slid up his entire body. He looked at the mirror beside the dresser. “Girl clothes they say.” He shrugged a bit then walked over to his steel contraption in the middle of the room. The steel object was actually titled the Steel Slider. Its purpose was so that it was dark when people went to sleep.
The planet Recede’s so large two stars actually rotated and revolved around it. They were called Narkiss 1 and 2. Pushing a button the sliding part of the Steel Slider he closed it. Nodding as if to say that he was happy with what he’d done he moved over to the mirror again. Reaching into the pocket on the right side he pulled out a yellow comb. Combing his pale blonde hair down straight he walked out of his room while pocketing his comb. Walking into the hallway he looked at the walls of the hallway. Stepping out of his room immediately to his right was a bathroom. Stepping inside he walked to the sink. Beside the sink was a toilet. Behind him was a shower. He brushed his teeth quickly, rinsed out his mouth and walked out of the bathroom. He walked a few steps until he came to his fathers room, turned left and carried on. He made his way to the start of the stairs walked down 4 steps, turned left again and made his way down the rest of the stairs. The stairs entered into the living room. Turning right he made his way through a small little way to the kitchen where breakfast was waiting for him. Sitting at the round table he began eating. His father walked out from the bathroom and entered the kitchen. Washing his hands he looked to Joe. “She’s coming to see you today son.” Joe frowned into his bowl and chewed slowly. “I know that dad.” Phillip walked into the dining room and sat on a chair pulling up a book. Looking at the cover he spoke again. “I’ll never forget what she said to me the first time I met her. “ Joes head snapped up. “Wait. People are only supposed to meet her once.” It was at that Phillip set the book down and stared Joe in the eye. “The second time I met her, was actually.” He paused unsure of the right words. “It was a long time ago son. Many people do meet her a second time, if they are lucky enough…
