January 24, 2009
Times:7:30pm – 9:00pm
As winter settles in everyone looks forward to a time out from the snow and freezing temperatures. So mark January 24 or January 25 on your calendar to escape to a musical interlude at the Meaford Hall to hear the pleasant sounds created by the Two Pianos ~ Eight Hands team. This local ensemble brings music to please everyone. Classical, seasonal, show tunes, jazz pieces and even some whimsical pieces.
New to the team this year is a very talented gentleman from Collingwood, Brian Rae. Brian was the organist at St. Michaels Cathedral in Toronto from 1965 to 1990 and conducted the tenor and bass choir. During his 40 plus years at St. Michaels Choir School he has held many positions and produced 8 choir recordings for the choir school and as Tour Director arranged concert tours and conducted choirs across Canada as well as the United States, Europe, Trinidad and Tobago. The piano team is delighted to have Brian as a member and he has brought a new vitality to their performance. Brian replaces Sheila Eagles who retired after the 2008 concerts. Binnie Armstrong from Collingwood, Heather Holmes, and Saundra Lake from Clarksburg make up the rest of the team.
Proceeds from the concert will be donated to the Meaford Hall & Culture Foundation to assist in the development of arts and culture in the Georgian triangle.
